HAMANN first to offer fully IMO approved Ballast Water Treatment System

The WORLD'S FIRST OPERATIONAL system with Final Approval and Type Approval

Full Type Approval from German authorities was received, June 10th. 2008.
And HAMANN is now ready to start serial production of  -
the Ballast Water Treatment System called SEDNA®.

The SEDNA®-System operates in-line during the uptake of the ballast water. It is based on a modular concept which includes a two-step physical separation as well as a secondary treatment with an oxidising agent.
The process is so efficient that the SEDNA® system avoids the demands for cleaning also on the outgoing ballast water.
The system also cleans any residue dissolved in ballast water, thus minimizing the risk of transferring polluting agencies in muddy uptakes.

The system is able to handle ballast water pump capacities from 50m3/h up to 1000 m3/h in a single module. A combination of modules is able to serve larger pump capacities. A full scale plant is in continuous operation aboard an ultramodern Container Ship since mid 2006.
